Dr. Sara Ogren grew up loving the small-town life in nearby Dixon. She could not be happier living her childhood dream of caring for animals as a veterinarian. Dr. Sara is proud to call herself an Alumnus of UC Davis for both her bachelors degree and her Degree of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Sara enjoys spending time with her family and her critters including her dog, cats and horses. She is proud to call Monticello Veterinary Practice home and looks forward to caring for the pets of Winters for many years to come.
Melody has worked at Monticello Veterinary Practice since August 2016, before that she had been working in the area for 7 years at the previous practice Orchard Veterinary Practice. Winters has been her home her whole life and has enjoyed growing up here and getting to know a lot of people in the community. Currently she has 5 dogs, 4 cats, 1 turtle, 3 cockatiels and a horse. Her favorite activities are horseback riding, camping with friends and family, hiking with her dogs and just being outdoors.
Gale has been with MVP since the beginning. She is an experienced Office Manager and has enjoyed helping MVP grow. Gale enjoys spending time with her family and pets. Gale is the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren. Gale's three dogs, cat and horse keep her busy. She enjoys being out in the sun riding her horse, fishing or just reading a book.
Dr. Matthew Prator is a San Francisco native who has known from a young age that love of animals would lead him to a career in Veterinary Medicine. He received an BA in Zoology from UC Santa Barbara in 1993 and a Degree of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis in 2001. He has practiced Veterinary Medicine from coast to coast, including time in both Maine and Missouri, but is now proud to call Winters home. He especially has an interest in surgery, dentistry, and wellness care. Dr. Prator enjoys spending time with his wife and children, as well as his family's labrador retriever, cat, and 9 dairy goats. In whatever free time he has he also enjoys hiking, fishing, and cooking (as long as someone else does the dishes afterwards).
Dr Thalia Badger earned her Bachelor of Science in Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis. She began her career in a busy ER and general practice hybrid before transitioning to mobile wellness care, where she provided personalized in-home veterinary services.
As a Fear Free Certified professional, Dr. Badger is known for her kind and empathetic approach, always striving to create a calm, positive experience for pets and their families. Her clinical interests include preventative medicine, dermatology, and geriatric care.
Now a proud resident of Winters, Dr. Badger is excited to care for the pets and people of her own community through her work at both Monticello Veterinary Practice and Mayfair Vet Care.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, walking, watching reality TV (Love Island), thrift/antique shopping, and trying new coffee shops. She lives with her husband and their two beloved cats, Ruby, and Coconut
